Not sure if you knew this about me, but I’m an Italian girl, and I love to eat! Doug and I are always on the look out for a new restaurant to try. This Tuesday we happened to be in Tustin and we discovered Mizu Sushi. This family owned restaurant is new on the scene, but it’s not going to take long for there to be a waitlist to get a table. The space used to be a Tower Records, but they have transformed it into a cool, hip vibe. The clientele is everything from college kids to date nighters, to local sushi lovers.
I have broken down my top three favorite things from our dining experience…
#3 The Cajun Tuna Sushi – It’s under $10 and our sushi chef said it is everyones favorite. I typically don’t like things too spicy, but I was loving this dish! It was crunch and chewy in every bite, and I wanted more.
#2 If sushi isn’t your thing, you’re in luck; they have a full kitchen as well. The Chilean Sea-bass was so good. I ate the whole thing with my chop sticks…the fish was cooked to such perfection it just fell off.
#1 The Yellowtale Crudo was perhaps my favorite. The Yellowtail was incredibly fresh and the dish was bursting with flavor. It had an amazing, but really light sauce including truffle oil and some other secret goodness, making this dish the reason I will be going back for more.
