We recently just had a baby…like 3 months ago…aaaand so we planned a trip to Hawaii! Three kids, six and under, on a 6 hour plane is no joke! But we did it and we will forever remember the 12 days we spent on the Big Island.
If you have an urge to go somewhere or do something, do it! Make it happen. Don’t list off excuses, go for it! Life is fun when you step outside your comfort. The season we are in with life right now, staying at home is way easier. But we hopped on a plane, and it was so worth it!
We love traveling to Hawaii. It is paradise! It is one plane ride, and feels like you are in another world. Here are some of my favorite things about Hawaii:
Best Ocean Activity: Stand Up Paddle-boarding. This is so fun and with the warm ocean water, you really have no excuses. Its a great, active date and with the clear water you can see tons of fish.
Best Drink: Mai Tai. But make sure you ask if it’s made with fresh fruit juice. No matter what island you are on, this drink is a slam dunk.
Best Beach Activity: Doug and I rented a couple “fat tire” beach bikes and it was so much fun! Even if its windy or rocky where you are staying, the big wheels on these bikes make them ideal for cruising on the beach.
Best Island Hike: Waipio Valley. This is a Big Island must. Enough said.
Best Sunset Restaurant: Beach Tree Restaurant at the Four Seasons. You feel like you are in a Tommy Bahama’s ad while you sip a cocktail and the Hawaiian vibes seep into your soul.
Obligatory Tourist Activity: Luau. Yes, they are cheesy, but my boys thought it was coolest thing ever…especially the fire thrower!
