For me, having time in the morning where I read my bible or daily devotional really has been life changing. I think it is so important to center ourselves and be intentional with our mindset for the day. I find I am more patient and loving and content. As Paul writes, “I have learned the secret to being content” (Philippians 4:12) . Contentment is not something some people have and others don’t. it is something you learn and have to put effort into.
If this sounds overwhelming or you don’t know how to even stat with a “Quiet Time”, you aren’t alone! I felt this way when I first became a Christian. I put together a few of my favorite books I have read over the years to help.
Here is a list of some of my favorite books:
Breaking Free – By Beth Moore
For the Love– Jen Hatmaker
Love does– Bob Goff
Living beyond yourself– Beth Moore
My book– ? I wrote a book sharing my heart and faith and first season (season 8) I was on RHOC. Beyond Orange County
Every faith is different and way to express and center ourselves is different. What works for me may not work for you. Authors that I love may not make an impact on your heart as it does mine. The Bible is living and active and His Word is alive. These aren’t empty promises but real truth! It can only transform us though if we are in it and allow His Words to penetrate our Spirit.
