I work from home many days. We have a beautiful office for NOBLEMAN MAGAZINE, but many times I have to be home or am running around and I have found it is important for me to have a designated space in our home that is my ‘office’.
Once I came to this realization, Doug gave me full reign for design. See, most of our home is very gender neutral. Doug has a big opinion about design and that runs over into our home. He likes everything very neutral and modern. However, I am very girlie and love pinks and bold prints- so my office was the perfect space for me to release my inner desires for design that I haven’t been able to unleash prior! The first thing I saw was this bold banana leaf print wallpaper. Now, I haven’t seen wallpaper since the 80s but I saw this on Instagram and I wanted it as amn accent wall for my home office.
I then discoverd my pink desk and knew I had to have it. The fact it was on sale was icing on the cake for me. I thought about having all the pieces in my office pale oink, but realized white pieces would be more versitile if we ever moved and the pink desk could serve as an accent piece.
I love it when you find pieces from different stores but they look as if they were made to go together! My armoire is from Anthropoligie and my drawers are from Z Gallery but they look like they are from the same line.
Adding all the accent pieces is my favorite, yet most frustrating part of design. These pieces can make or break the room and sometimes things just work and other times you have to return and try again. I did all my shopping online and have learned a vase may look the perfect size- but reading the divisions and measuring it out is a must. Some of those photos can fool you!!
Hope you all like my office as much as I do. Below are the links to a lot of my items. I am sitting here writing this post and feel so happy in my own little girlie haven with my candle burning and the photos of my kids are smiling back at me! It makes me happy knowing you can picture where I am while I am writing all may blog posts for you all.
xoxo Lydia
