Doug and I decided to renew our wedding vows… again. We renewed our vows for our seven year anniversary, and then again for year ten (See older blog post open that day here). This year we are celebrating our 13th year of marriage and had the opportunity to renew our vows in Aruba in the biggest vow renewal ceremony in all of the Caribbean.
I love renewing our vows! I know that Doug is my person, and we will be together until death do us part… but why should we only celebrate our love once in our lifetime! It is special to say those vows, to be intentional and look one another in the eye and say, “I choose you. Still. I am yours and you are mine.”
We now have three boys and it was amazing to have them there and be part of our vows. Marriage is a journey and one worth celebrating. I believe in being intentional and making every year count. Every moment, or any excuse to mark an occasion, I am all about that. We had a wonderful day and Im sure it is not our last vow renewal!
If you are married, I would encourage you to think about renewing your vows. It is romantic and a wonderful way to celebrate you life for one another!
